“Hike from where morning light is free”

Likely referencing the eastern-most (”morning”) TRAX (”light rail”) station in the free fare zone in Salt Lake - Library Station. (Also, the library is a free resource, but not sure if that’s intentional or not)

“Down four then right half of three”

Go south 4 blocks and west 1.5 blocks (if you’re walking south, “right” would mean to the west) to end up at 26 E 800 S. The side of the Tanner Frames building has this mural:

“The creatures all look to the way”

They’re all facing north, which is the direction you need to go next

“But first 65 paces or you'll be astray”

Walk over to the east side of main street, which is right about 65 paces away. (162.5 feet at a standard 30” pace is exactly 65 paces!)

“One more than the logs and you're lost in a jiffy”

Go north (as directed by the creatures facing north) 5.5 blocks (there are 5 logs, so going 6 blocks would put you past it)

“On this path find the man from nineteen fifty”
